Work is progressing at Kia’s Solar Hail Protection Canopy in West Point, Georgia, now at the halfway mark. TransDevelopment provided design services for the facility layout and is responsible for pavement striping, while our partner Vehicle Protection Structures (VPS) is leading the installation of the hail net system.
The US $40 million project spans 75 acres and will ultimately provide hail protection while generating 10 megawatts of solar power. An initial project area was handed over in just 120 days, with full completion expected in 2025.
